Megan Pleli, MS, RN
Aquatic Program Administrator Bainbridge Island Metro Parks & Rec District Megan utilizes her training as a registered nurse and background in exercise physiology to provide a well-rounded approach to aquatics. Megan holds an American Red Cross Instructor Training certification in both lifeguarding and water safety, Babysitter Instructor, CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor, Aquatic Facility Operator and Aquatic Exercise Instructor certifications. Megan believes in creating a team atmosphere that engages staff and helps them train and think outside of the box. The Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center staff were recognized for their dedicated excellence by the American Red Cross in 2018. |
Phil Julson, MA
Associate Director - Aquatics The Ohio State University Phil got involved in the field of aquatics at a young age as a competitive swimmer, and later in high school as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Phil began his professional career in Aquatics and Campus Recreation in 2001 and currently serves as the Director of Aquatics for The Ohio State University. Prior to Ohio State, Phil also managed aquatic facilities, programs and events at the University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, University of Louisville and University of Minnesota. During that time, Phil has experienced nearly all aspects of aquatic facility management, but has enjoyed working primarily in collegiate settings where a blend of academic, competitive and recreational activities take place. Phil received his master’s degree in sport management from The Ohio State University in 2001, and graduated with a degree in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in 1999. Originally from Madison, Wisc., Phil now resides in the Columbus, Ohio, area with his wife Becky and two kids, Cora and Milo. |
